Living Local Harvest Festival

“Whether meandering around the Fairgrounds enjoying the early Autumn weather, feasting on locally grown and produced delicacies, browsing among informative exhibits, or learning new skills at hands-on demonstrations, festival goers found more than enough to stay busy. Along with exhibits packed with useful information, hour-long demonstrations were the centerpiece of Saturday’s program…” – MV Times

Under the big tent, Cathy Walthers made a fresh Heirloom Tomato Tart, gave the audience taste of Tomato Basil Jam and talked about roasting tomatoes for preserves.

In the Agricultural Hall, Slow Food gave tastings of tomatoes from Mermaid Farm, The Farm Institute, and Whippoorwill Farm, and curated the booths for several local farms and products. In the Slow Food Booth, Cathy had tastings of Beach Plum Cordial for all to enjoy. Yum!
