oysters & local growers
In celebration of the opening of Katama Bay oyster farming, The Port Hunter restaurant and their staff graciously sponsored an evening of feasting on Oyster hors d’oeuvres and dinner, benefiting Slow Food MV and the MV Shellfish Group.
The movie Shellshocked explained why oysters are important to our eco-system and our health.
Nic Turner of Honeysuckle Oyster Farm and Rick Karney of MV Shellfish Group lead a Q & A about what it means to be an oyster grower in Katama Bay, and the world of oysters and their importance here on the Vineyard.
Jack and Sue Blake were their in spirit, donating oysters for the evening’s fare.
The dinner was
- $32 for Slow Food members
$40 for non-members
