SFMV Projects
Slow Food MV GMO FREE
is meeting regularly at the Howe’s House in West Tisbury.
Our next meeting is Tuesday January 21st at 6:00pm. If you are interested in GMO’s and would like to be a part of our committee, please join us.
What is going on at the State level?
We have until March 2014 to get the GMO labeling bills out of committee at the State House, otherwise we’ll have to wait until the 2 015-16
legislative session to try again. Let’s seize this opportunity. Call your reps today and watch this video!
Genetic Roulette – The Gamble of Our Lives has won the 2012 Movie of the Year by the Solari Report and the Top Transformational Film of 2012 by AwareGuide!
Never-Before-Seen-Evidence points to genetically engineered foods as a major contributor to rising disease rates in the US population, especially among children. Gastrointestinal disorders, allergies, inflammatory diseases, and infertility are just some of the problems implicated in humans, pets, livestock, and lab animals that eat genetically modified soybeans and corn.
Monsanto’s strong arm tactics, the FDA’s fraudulent policies, and how the USDA ignores a growing health emergency are also laid bare. This sometimes shocking film may change your diet, help you protect your family, and accelerate the consumer tipping point against genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Don’t miss this film!
If you missed the viewing of Genetic Roulette, there are three more opportunities to see it at a library near you:
The screenings that I have arranged are
Thursday January 16, 6pm Oak Bluffs Public Library
Wednesday February 12, 7pm Edgartown Public Library (waiting for final confirmation)
Wednesday March 12, 5:30pm Chilmark Free Public Library

that make it all happen thru a tour of 6 farms and backyard keepers.
as part of an educational effort, a booklet all about the basics of
